The directions given to me were simple: photograph our family as we are.
I did just that on a Friday afternoon this fall when I met Sarah and John and their children at their beloved family cabin overlooking beautiful Woman Lake in Hackensack, MN.
It had been 8 years since our paths had crossed. Oddly enough we reunited in the same foot prints where Sarah and John exchanged wedding vows. I was lucky to photograph their intimate wedding on a chilly July day in 2009 and have loved watching their family grow over the years thanks to the lurking we all do on social media. Seeing their darling babies up close and personal was a real special treat for me; especially given of the casual nature of the session. The laughter, the boogers, the obstinance, the cuddles, and the squeels and the tears all made this a perfect session for me. These are fleeting moments & I love that Sarah and John have the tangible treasures of real interaction and big love.
