We all have people in our lives who aren’t related to us, but are about as close to our family as you could get. For me, that would be these people: Mark, Sharon, Ashley and Alyssa: the people I grew up door next to. They would easily make the list of those most important in my world. They have been near us for life’s ups and downs: from backyard relays and water balloon fights, to graduations & weddings, to moving out and moving home…Mark was the 1st hug I got when I pulled into the driveway and told him my dad had cancer. Sharon came over late one night to sit on the couch with me just so I wouldn’t be in an empty house a few weeks after he passed away. They are the best neighbors you could hope to have: BBQ’s, a cup of sugar, an extra shovel on a snowy driveway, a walk around the block, a good luck text, a wave when you pass. It doesn’t get any better…
Ashley and Alyssa live in Arizona and North Dakota…not back nearly enough for my liking, we celebrated their weekend home with a quick photo session in Burnsville, MN. It was a chance to document a rarity: everyone being home under one roof. It was also a chance to celebrate Ashley’s engagement to Parker…. Oh love! So happy for everyone.
Thank you, Mark, Sharon, Ashley & Alyssa, for being pillars of love and friendship in my and my family’s life. We are blessed by you! Parker, you are gaining the cream of the crop as far as in-laws go, but you probably already know that 🙂 Thank you for allowing me to photograph you. Nothing makes me happier than doing this for people that I love…
