My favorite love stories are the ones that are a little different from the rest… the stories of love after heartbreak…the stories where children are already friends and their parents get married to one another…and the stories that involve 2 people whose love for God is bigger than their love for each other ….you know, cool stuff like that. Enter: Shelly & Randy.
I had the opportunity to tag along on their wedding day at Grand View Lodge in mid October. Their day was a little different from others I have photographed, as their wedding day consisted of just a handful of beloved people. The weather was unseasonably warm and the vibrant fall color did not disappoint. They exchanged vows on the deck of their cabin in front of their children, beneath the tall pines that Grand View Lodge is known for.
I’m not sure if I felt a connection with this family because of their infectious laughter, their deep faith, their warm and welcoming personalities, our south-metro connections, or because of their love of candy. Bits and pieces of Shelly and Randy’s wedding day have worked their way into this photographer’s heart and they’ll stay there for a lifetime:
