If you’re new here, let me introduce you to my sister, Annie and her family. If you’ve been here before, you know I photograph my sibling and their families EVERY. CHANCE. I. GET.
If I could move to South Dakota, I would. I absolutely love the state and I love the life Annie and Troy have created for their family. They work harder than anyone I know and have done the most admirable thing as parents: They include Callie and Sara in their daily chores and farm life in such a way that the girls don’t even realize they’re working hard.
I admire them as parents and as a couple and wouldn’t have been able to hand-pick a better big sister for myself. They are blessings in my life and in the lives of everyone who knows them.
We started the shoot at their home and finished at sunset at their pasture among their cows. It was the perfect early fall night:
Clara is no stranger to photo-bombing her cousin’s sessions:
This might have otherwise found itself deleted but I love the way Callie is looking at her mama:
This filter isn’t exactly my style, but I needed to tone down the bright sun on their faces and I kind of like the way it looks! Full moon behind them too!
My Clara comes with me to many shoots when I’m photographing family and friends… On this night she kept herself busy finding empty shotgun shells and filling them with gravel…
